Our Approach

At Gestalt Madison, our work is grounded in Gestalt and Psychodynamic theory. We offer a present-focused, insight-oriented therapeutic experience designed to support deep self-reflection, healing, and meaningful change.

We begin by exploring your inner world — how you think, feel, relate, and move through life. Together, we’ll look closely at your current relationships, belief systems, and past experiences — including the therapeutic relationship itself. Nothing is off-limits. Whether you’re navigating internal conflict, relational pain, or existential questions, therapy is a space to slow down, make contact with what’s true, and begin to uncover what has felt stuck or out of reach.

Part of the power of Gestalt therapy is that its focus is not on problem-solving or on getting people to think differently. Rather, Gestalt calls us to attend closely to the here and now of the relationship, creating an encounter in which the client can develop an awareness of the therapeutic encounter—what is happening to him and between us at the moment.
